Neurocomic trailer from Neurocomic on Vimeo.

What are our brains made of? What happens in our brains when we think, feel, see, hear or touch?
Neuroscience is receiving increasing public attention, as our society faces the complex problems of ageing diseases and mental disorders. The medium of comics has repeatedly proved incredibly efficient as education material, for its clear yet informal approach. Comic artist Matteo Farinella will collaborate with neuroscientist Dr. Hana Ros of University College London to create Neurocomic. A graphic novel that takes the reader on an exciting and visually captivating adventure through the brain, populated by quirky creatures and famous neuroscientists. Giant squid, talking sea slugs, mysterious trap doors, submarines, parachutes and underwater battles transport the reader on a fantasy journey that fascinates and helps them to understand how the brain works.

The book will be released in the UK in 2013, together with a short documentary by director Richard Wyllie, who is following the process of collaboration behind the book, in order to explore the interaction between science and drawing. The project is fully supported by a Wellcome Trust People Award.

TCS - Robot Heart: Heart-Shaped Box - Nirvana (covered by Kawehi) from Kawehi on Vimeo.

I’ll be covering songs that Kickstarter backers pledged for - starting with one of my favorite bands - Nirvana. I love everything about this song - despite rumors made by Courtney Love that this song is about her vajayjay.

Eclectic Method - A Brief History of Sampling from Eclectic Method on Vimeo.

MP3 DOWNLOAD: soundcloud.com/eclecticmethod/a-brief-history-of-sampling

A video remix journey through the history of sampling taking in some of the most noted breaks and riffs of the decades. A chronological journey from the Beatles’ use of the Mellotron in the 60s to the sample dense hiphop and dance music of the 80s and 90s. Each break is represented by a vibrating vinyl soundwave exploding into various tracks that sampled it, each re-use another chapter in the modern narrative.

NO INTERNET WEEK: FULL DOCUMENTARY from Mother on Vimeo.

The Internet:

It has taken over our lives and permeates every moment. It even has its own week.

And it’s the annual occurrence of Internet Week that made us think– have we become addicted to the internet? And if we have, what would happen if 5 digital natives were forced to go cold turkey for a week? Would it be reminiscent of a scene from Trainspotting? Or would they regress to some kind of IRL utopia?

We followed these five internet addicts around for a week. This is the result.

Bonaverde: The Coffee Revolution from Bonaverde on Vimeo.

Together, we can change the way coffee is perceived, traded and prepared. It is our goal to revolutionize the second biggest commodity market in the world by selling green raw coffee beans directly from farmers to consumers - #FarmersBecomeFaces.

In order to shift the roasting process to the customer, we developed the world‘s first roast-grind-brew coffee machine, which enables everyone to roast their own coffee. Just like that we’re disrupting the current value chain and are able not only to source high quality coffees for you, but also to finally pay the farmers fair prices.
Green beans to black coffee - at a single push of a button.

Save the date: Nov 12th.
